Your loved one deserves to live the best life possible

Watch your loved one thrive in an environment that feels like home

Navigating the aging journey is difficult.

We understand what’s at stake here: it’s not just someone, it’s your loved one.

Meanwhile, it’s on you to make the difficult decisions.

There's a Higher Path for our seniors

Senior care today is reactive, expensive, and siloed. It’s a sick-care system, not a health-care system (designed to keep seniors healthy). Most of us have accepted this status quo because it feels too big and complex to change. Not us. We’re taking the road less traveled and championing a higher standard of senior care.

HAPPY TAX DAY - Well at least for the IRS! Hopefully you all get refunds back and that you will treat yourself to something fun to do as you have definitely earned it! Now on to happier news! MOTHER'S DAY 2024 - Please mark your calendars for our annual Mother's Day Tea on March 11th - Cleta is busy planning a fun filled, food filled time for us to fellowship together and to celebrate our mother's both here and even the memories of those who are not with us anymore. More will come out on this celebration in the next couple weeks so be on the look out! I will leave you with some fun facts about the origin of Mother's day - enjoy! Why do we celebrate Mother's Day? The celebration dates back to the late 1800s and is a combination of several different events. But it was Anna Maria Reeves Jarvis, a social activist and community organizer, who unintentionally got the ball rolling.A founder of women's clubs that helped mothers care for their children, Jarvis also organized Mothers’ Friendship Day in 1868, an event intended to bring mothers of Confederate and Union soldiers together in harmony after the Civil War.From there, suffragette Julia Ward Howe wrote what’s called the Mother’s Day Proclamation two years later in 1870, in an effort to promote world peace and pushed for a Mother’s Peace Day to be celebrated in June. It was around that time that the idea for some kind of day to honor mothers took hold, but it didn't catch on for at least another 35 years. Upon Jarvis' death in 1905, her daughter, Anna, began a letter-writing campaign, calling for a Mother's Day to honor not only her mother's work, but for all mothers and the sacrifices they make on behalf of their children. It was her tireless advocacy for the holiday that led President Woodrow Wilson to sign a proclamation in 1914, officially declaring the second Sunday in May as Mother's Day. But here’s where things get interesting. All those cards, carnations and candy you buy for mom today? Jarvis was having none of it. She wanted moms celebrated, not commercialized. And in the 1920s, she slammed the modern incarnation of the holiday as a materialistic free-for-all. So whether you buy your mom flowers, candy or a gift - I know that my mom always told me that the greatest gift she received was that of her family's time - that my friends is wisdom! And whether you are young and old PLEASE take this to heart as I know that I would give anything to have my mom back with me to celebrate the wonderful mother that she was - words can't express the love of a mother...it is priceless. Proverbs 31:28-29 "Her children arise and her blessed; her husband also also, and he praises her: "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."

Very pleased with facility, care, wonderful care providers, meals that (name removed) is receiving, and programs provided for residents. |

  • Apr 1, 2024

I appreciate the frequency and variety of which residents are encouraged to participate in facility activities. Also, the staff is so very caring and genuinely concerned for my loved one.

  • Mar 1, 2024

The Bickford staff from kitchen, maintenance, housekeeping and administration supported a hospice resident to cross over gently. Their caring and concern for her and her family was exemplary.

  • Feb 1, 2024

Wonderful activities and residents treated like family from all staff with a kind, yet professional mannerism.

  • Feb 4, 2024

I want to take a moment to say how thankful I am for (name removed), who is not only a fantastic cook, but also such a nice person. If I had it my way I would always eat at the Bickford when I come out to see my Mom. I think it is better than the restaurants in Clinton!

  • Jan 2, 2024

All aspects of the facility, management and staff are absolute 5! However, my family member struggles to eat the food made by the new cook. She claims it's barely edible and that it upsets her stomach every time.

  • Dec 2, 2023

Our family is so grateful for all the staff at Bickford. A special shout out to (name removed) for all she does. Our dad might not always remember her name, but we all know who he is talking about as soon as he says "she is the one that always worries about me." Thank you (name removed) for making him feel so special.
