The Silver Stars entertained us for an entire afternoon one day last week. The Silver Stars are a dance group consisting of 15 women. They do all types of dances and change their outfits between each performance. While they are changing, their MC tells stories and jokes.

The residents of Hugo celebrated Valentine's Day with Valentine related games in the morning, making Valentines and a Valentine snack in the afternoon. In the evening, they enjoyed a wonderful steak dinner followed by beautiful music performed by Jenni Thyng.

Aloha from Bickford of Hugo! It was a great day to travel to Hawaii, the temps in Mn were below zero. The residents enjoyed music in the morning from Ross McLeod. After a Hawaiian lunch, they strung paper leis and had smoothies and cookies for snack.

The residents all enjoyed the outing to see Mary Poppins Returns. They saw the movie at the White Bear township theater where the seats recline and are heated. They also had popcorn and a drink during the show.

Fun was had by all at the Hugo family Christmas Party. Families were invited to join their loved ones for en evening of music, refreshments, a massage therapist, and even a visit from Santa Claus.

Jessica spent an afternoon with the residents helping them make these festive Christmas trees. The trees were used for centerpieces for our family Christmas party and then the residents could bring them to their room to decorate for the holidays.

During the week of Winter Festival, the residents started the week by making these cute snowman globes to use as centerpieces. We had two young girls stop by to help us. Later in the week we had a snowball toss, played snowflake bingo and had snowballs and hot chocolate for snack.

It was a beautiful day for Pinehaven Farm. We had a trolley ride to the pumpkin patch and we had the opportunity to feed a variety of animals. We brought pumpkins back with us that we will be painting next week.

The Forest Lake librarians returned after having the summer off. They bring stories, music, and sometimes crafts. This week Suzanne used a bubble machine as they listened to Lawrence Welk music.

Elvis was in the house for 50's day at Bickford of Hugo. The residents enjoyed a diner style lunch complete with banana splits for dessert. Elvis did a fabulous job singing all of his greatest hits. The day ended with chocolate milkshakes for snack.

Everyone looked their best on Hollywood Day. We popped open the bubbly during lunch and bedazzled sunglasses for the Hollywood look. We also walked the red carpet, had a photo shoot and watched old classic movies in the afternoon.

Fun was had by all during County Fair Day! They started with a county fair lunch of corn dogs, french fries and cherry pie. In the afternoon we had carnival games outside. We had a duck pond, ring toss, spin art, cake walk and face painting. We also had a petting zoo with horses and donkeys.

The Rockin' with Tony Show comes to Hugo twice a month. Tony performs hits from the 50's and 60's. The residents clap, sing, shake noise makers and occasionally they get up and dance.

Meet our new nurse, Chelsie. Chelsie has been working in the healthcare field for six years. She was a CNA in North Branch and graduated from Nursing school in 2017. Chelsie was a nurse at the Bickford location in Maplewood before joining us here in Hugo. Chelsie lives in North Branch with her boyfriend and 9 year old daughter, Kira. They also have a pet shih-poo named Cocoa. Chelsie loves to fish, spend time with her family and spend time at Lake Kabetogama. Chelsie is excited for the opportunity to be part of the Bickford family in Hugo and to meet all of the families.

Bickford of Hugo had an official ribbon cutting ceremony and second Open House to showcase it's newly renovated memory care facility. Members of the Hugo Chamber of Commerce and the city of Hugo were present to help with the Grand Opening.
