Buddy Von came today and entertained us with singing, his guitar, and some amazing piano playing. It was like attending a show on a cruise ship since today was “Cruise the Open Seas” day! We also played some trivia shuffleboard as well. Our fire drill was a surprise but we laughed that if we were really on a cruise, we’d be heading to life rafts instead of our bread basket area!

We went to the State Historical Museum today. There is so MUCH to see! We could have spent all day there! We didn’t know if we were allowed to take pictures but I snuck a couple . Plus a one of the Capital building

Wow, our residents got so witness the solar eclipse! Some said it was the first time they’ve ever seen it! Thanks, to Besty from the West Des Moines Library, for the special glasses that this was able to happen.

Staff continues to be caring for residents. Clean facility, nutritional meals and fun activities planned weekly.

Staff is courteous & helpful. (name removed) are very professional & provide answers to questions. They both help the staff & take care of residents as well. Very caring.

I so appreciate all the staff that take care of my dad in Mary B's. They are respectful & patient with him & I've seen them sit & talk with him & take him for a walk. (names removed) have been very supportive for my mom & I & willing to listen to our concerns. Thank you!

My only comment is that we are still struggling with getting staff to shave him. Otherwise, staff are great with dad & take time to talk with him & encourage him to participate in activities & conversations.
