We took a round shortbread cookie and topped it with a Dots gumdrop. Really they were just an excuse to eat cookies and candies. Then we talked about summer, including some funny summer riddles. For instance . . . What did the ocean say to the sailboat? Nothing; it just waved.

I can't believe we're already halfway through October! It's amazing how quickly time passes when you're having fun. October marks the beginning of the last quarter of 2016 and also presents us with our final rounds of performance evaluations for the year. Every quarter I sit down with our Bickford Family Members (BFM's) and reflect on the different ways they've enriched the happiness of our residents. I'm absolutely blown away by the little things our BFM's do for our residents and how creative they can be when coming up with these ideas: creating a personalized place mat to recognize residents on their birthdays, bringing a new bear in for a resident that collects teddy bears, or preparing a special family recipe for a resident that isn't feeling well. It's this unique and personalized approach that will continue to set us apart from everyone else. With Thanksgiving around the corner I wanted to express my deepest appreciation to all of the BFM's that help make Bickford of Wabash "home" to so many people!
