Bickford of Saginaw Township

Did you know??? Bickford Senior Living is partnering with the Global Orphan project to build Assisted Livings in Haiti and India to care for their seniors in partnership with caring for the orphaned children. We just approved doing our first actual project in India for seniors. The Global Orphan has a farm next to an orphanage in India where our first community will be built. It will be developed through a local church partner in India and will be for 8-10 seniors. We are also working on getting a community started in Haiti. Joe Eby just returned last Monday from Haiti and is hopeful to have something up and running down there yet this year. We are just in the infant stages but who knows where it will take us!!

We had a very succesful Easter Egg Hunt this afternoon at 2 p.m. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our amazing family members, we were able to host almost thirty children of all ages. Everyone had a fun time scouting the outside of our building to find as many eggs as possible. We let our littler egg hunters use our courtyard to dig up some loot; while the older kids got to run the entire perimeter of the property. Everyone who participated went home with a significant amount of candy; some even took home some very cool bigger prizes as well. We opened the doors at 2 p.m. and all the eggs--over five hundred--were collected within a half an hour. Our sun room was filled to the brim as all of our residents wanted to watch the little ones at play. After the eggs were found and prizes were given, almost every family stuck around for a bit to visit with our residents and catch up with their loved ones. All in all we had a great turnout and a fun time! I want to thank all of our C.N.A.s who brought in their children, and our amazing L.E.C. Lynn Rhyan without whom none of this could have been possible.
