We had a GREAT turnout at our blood drive yesterday! With the help of Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center, we had over 13 members of our community show up to donate blood. And thanks to our local HyVee, all of our participants received a pint of Whitey's ice cream for our Give a Pint, Get a Pint theme! Over 38% of the US population can donate blood, but only about 5% actually do. It's a great way to help members in your community, and all across the country!

There's still time to sign up for our blood drive! On Thursday, March 28th from 3:00PM - 6:00PM Bickford Senior Living of Muscatine will be hosting a blood drive with the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center. More than 30% of the U.S. population is eligible to give blood, but less than 5% actually do! More than 4.5 million people will require a blood transfusion this year, so please consider donating! It's not too late to kick off a healthy 2013! Our Wellness Center is now open to all seniors in the community from 10AM-2PM every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, free of charge. We've got some great machines to help you target specific areas of health you'd like to work on. Come check us out today and let us help you take that first step into a healthier year!

Sure is snowy outside and cold! I thought Spring was coming..... Its a good thing that we have such good company and good food. We are keeping busy and not letting the snow get us down. Be safe!
