Happy Flag Day. Wow. To listen to our residents who were actually there December 7, 1941 to witness the flag raising on Iwo Jima, share their stories is so moving. Eagle by Eugene Carson He flew with grace in his domain, free as a spirit, wild as rain. The exalted ruler of all he could see, a sign of peace in the land of the free. Admired by the young, revered by all, but his presence on earth was his downfall. Man poisoned his food, disturbed his throne, made him a symbol, destroyed his home. His cry for help was ignored by all. The eagle has landed. Heed his call.
