New Jerusalem came to sing for our residents. They performed music from a multitude of genres, from gospel, to country western, to patriotic. The residents really engaged with them and enjoyed the performance.

When Dave is getting rooms ready for move in or having to paint walls, he wears a shirt that says Wet Paint on it, so we all had to wear similar shirts as part of our costume to honour him.

Dorothy, who grew up on a pumpkin patch expressed how many happy memories were coming back being on a similar farm! She really enjoyed the pygmy goats and the pheasants.

On Thursday 10/25 we took a bus ride out to Ackerman's Farm and Pumpkin Patch in Morton, IL. It was perfect fall weather. The sun broke through the clouds and shined the entire outing. We couldn't have asked for nicer weather.

We had a yummy Chili lunch for our Fall Festival! We hope you enjoyed it. If your chili sparked your interest to make your own, we have the perfect excuse to make it. We are having a Chili Cook Off This coming Wednesday. We have a sign up sheet in the living room for you to enter your chili. Then on Wednesday afternoon, bring your chili in a crock pot and we will have tables set up for everyone to taste different chili's and vote on their favorite. We will be giving away 3 prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place chili's. It is going to be a fun event. So be sure to bring a spoon and an appetite on Wednesday, October 24th! Chili Tasting will be from 2:30p-4:00pm. Prizes will be announced after.

Last night we had SFEA Vocal Jazz Ensemble J408 here to perform for us. They were a lively group and performed some amazing songs! They were well received by all the residents who sang along and were eager to have them return this fall!

Thursday evening, we hosted an open house Wine Before You Dine Event. We wanted to open our doors to the public and showcase our Pearl's Place. We had Wine, and hor d'oeuvres and light piano music. It was a wonderful event and it went off splendidly.
